RSS Feeds - sometimes known as Really Simple Syndication, is a popular means of sharing content (such as news headlines) without requiring readers to constantly visit a Web site to see what's new. RSS feeds contain headlines and hyperlinks to longer articles, event information or web pages.
On our new site, both news and schedules are available this way.
Most modern browsers have RSS feed readers built right in (IE 7, FireFox 2.0, Safari 2/3), and they know what to do when you click on the little "Subscribe to RSS feed" icon.
If when you click on "Subscribe to RSS Feed" button and you get a lot of web garbage, then your browser is telling you to get an RSS Feed Reader. Here are some options:
1) If you are running XP, Microsoft would love for you to upgrade to IE 7 - http://www.microsoft.com/windows/products/winfamily/ie/default.mspx
2) If you would like to try a whole different browser, then FireFox 2.0 is great - http://en.www.mozilla.com/en/firefox
3) If you are stuck with your current browser, then you can get another program to do RSS. Google Reader is a free one - you just need a Google account - http://www.google.com/reader
